Breaking the silence, unveiling racism

NOV 1 / 6.00 pm, São Jorge – Manoel de Oliveira Cinema

Economic inequalities punish those who are most vulnerable in society, hitting even more those populations historically plundered and dehumanized by the process of accumulation and domination. Racism feeds on that. Based on the collective-made film Black Out that involves quilombolas and several partners, scholars and activists Ruthie Gilmore and Djamila Ribeiro will discuss all that and plenty more in this debate.
