Doclisboa 18th Edition

In October, Doclisboa returns for the 18th edition.

This is a special edition that, as a response to these strange and exceptional times we are living, reinvents itself by designing a new format. This year, the festival will not be organized by sections and competitions. Instead, it will be composed of six distinct modules of programmes, scheduled between 22nd October 2020 and 10th March 2021, in our usual venues (Culturgest, Cinema Ideal, Cinemateca Portuguesa and Cinema São Jorge).

The first moment of the festival, with both screenings in venues and online sessions, will present a journey through the universe of Georgian cinema and a cycle dedicated to work and labour in its multiple representations through the history of cinema.

It is also during this first moment that Nebulae will take place. This year, the aggregator of all Doclisboa’s activities dedicated to the film industry with masterclasses, tutorships, workshops and meetings, among many other activities, will be exclusively online, allowing an increased number of participants and a significant territorial presence.

From November to March, one week a month, we will introduce the following moments, each one oriented by a guideline, offering an enriching programme of films, debates and talks in our regular venues. 

The structure of the festival has changed, but our commitment towards cinema and the will of watching and thinking the world collectively remains.
