Fisherman and the Girl

The daughter of a fisherman absent at sea pictures him in trouble, facing an evil fish that tears his fragile boat apart. Or it may not be only her imagination. Tkeshelashvili’s tridimensional animation is made of cut-outs and puppets, and it adds layers of representation and dream without saturating the continuous allure of its findings, where one is able to fit the memory of Moby Dick, Man Ray’s starfish, and henceforth its main character and a remarkable monster.
