Georgian Ancient Songs
Dzveli qartuli simgera

Between Giorgobistve [Fallen Leaves] and Iko shashvi mgalobeli [Once Upon a Time There Was a Singing Blackbird], Iosseliani decided to record the religious singing of several of the country’s regions in their own languages. The result is a small visual tour starting in Svanetia, fascinated by the landscapes and the faces, the labour and the bodies, that includes the recording of choirs, which we sometimes see in action.
