The Morning Romance

“At a difficult time, friendship, delicacy and greatness of soul shall enable the main characters to not waste their talent.” At the time of this synopsis for the Clermont-Ferrand Festival (1997), this tale of male comradeship was a resistance to the erosion of Georgian society. While still attending the image course at the Theatre and Film Institute, the film-maker’s empathetic look encompasses that society with a confidence that largely transcends the modesty of his means.
