Through the story of this former partisan, Popivoda reflects on possibilities for the struggles of the present. In the same session, the film\u00a0<b>The Earth Is Still Blue When I Get Off Work<\/b>, by\u00a0<b>S\u00e9rgio Silva<\/b>, director and former programmer of the Brazilian Cinematheque, brings a contemplative look at the cinematographic archive and the ephemeral nature of heritage. Later in the festival S\u00e9rgio Silva will also present a special session, curated by him, dedicated to the Brazilian Cinematheque.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Tale of King Crab\u00a0<\/b>from<b>\u00a0Alessio Rigo de Righi\u00a0<\/b>and<b>\u00a0Matteo Zoppis<\/b>, directors of<i>\u00a0Il Solengo<\/i>\u00a0(winner of Doclisboa\u201915), will close this year\u2019s festival. The film, which had its world premiere in Cannes, sits in the folds of the universe of history and mythology, building a fiction upon the legend of Luciano; a complex anti-hero exiled from Italian medieval society, who leaves for Tierra del Fuego in search of treasure.<\/p>\n<p>HEARTBEAT<\/p>\n<p>The opening of the\u00a0<b>Heart Beat<\/b>\u00a0section will be taken on by\u00a0<b>a-ha The Movie<\/b>, by<b>\u00a0Thomas Robsahm\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0<b>Aslaug Holm<\/b>. A film that follows the trajectory of the renowned Norwegian band from its early beginning to its rapid rise and international recognition until the band\u2019s split .<\/p>\n<p>The festival also welcomes\u00a0<b>Charlotte Gainsbourg<\/b>\u2018s first film,\u00a0<b>Jane by Charlotte<\/b>, in which the actress and singer sets out to film her mother, Jane Birkin, in a documentary that traces a complex and intimate history of their relationship and memories.<\/p>\n<p>Heart Beat also announces another three world premieres, of three Portuguese titles.<\/p>\n<p><b>Everything Must Go<\/b>, by\u00a0<b>Maria Jo\u00e3o Guard\u00e3o<\/b>, follows the process of the eviction of Jo\u00e3o Fiadeiro from the space inhabited by his company, Atelier RE.AL, over the last 15 years, while giving a grand overview of his career\u2019s work and very noticeable presence as a catalyst within\u00a0 Portugal\u2019s contemporary cultural panorama. In\u00a0<b>Eunice or a Letter to a Young Actress<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Tiago Dur\u00e3o<\/b>\u00a0shares an\u00a0intimate\u00a0look at his accomplice, veteran Portuguese actress Eunice Mu\u00f1oz, through her many roles as a woman, mother and grandmother. Meanwhile\u00a0<b>Spread Through Inland<\/b>, by\u00a0<b>Ant\u00f3nio Aleixo<\/b>, produced by Tiago Pereira and with the participation of the Portuguese geographer \u00c1lvaro Domingues, travels to the center of Portugal in an attempt to recuperate the collective memory of this invisible side of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Also in Heartbeat: in\u00a0<b>The Poet \u2019s Wife<\/b>, by German filmmaker<b>\u00a0Helke Misselwitz\u00a0<\/b>(world premiere), we allow ourselves to be permeated by the work and wisdom of Turkish painter G\u00fcler Y\u00fccel and her love for life.\u00a0<b>Jamila Wigno<\/b>t\u2019s\u00a0<b>Ailey\u00a0<\/b>honors the legacy of legendary African-American choreographer and activist Alvin Ailey. In\u00a0<b>Becoming Cousteau<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Liz Garbus<\/b>\u00a0focuses on the life and legacy of the iconic explorer Jacques Cousteau.\u00a0<b>Oan Kim and Brigitte Bouillot<\/b>\u00a0map the life and artistic explorations of the Korean painter Kim Tschang-Yeul, in\u00a0<b>The Man Who Paints Water Drops<\/b>, and\u00a0<b>Eugenio Puppo<\/b>\u00a0travels through the history of Brazilian post-new cinema in\u00a0<b>The Good Cinema<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>The programme also comprises\u00a0<b>Philipp Hartmann\u2019s<\/b>\u00a0most recent title,\u00a0<b>From the 84 Days<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Charm Circle<\/b>, by\u00a0<b>Nira Burstein<\/b>,\u00a0<b>You Didn\u2019t Know About Me<\/b>, by\u00a0<b>Alan Minas Silva<\/b>, and\u00a0<b>Captains of Zaatari,<\/b>\u00a0by Egyptian\u00a0<b>Ali Elarabi<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON<\/p>\n<p>The section<b>\u00a0From the Earth to the Moon<\/b>\u00a0will present the three episodes of the documentary\u00a0<b>Uprising<\/b>, directed by\u00a0<b>Steve McQueen<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>James Rogan<\/b>. Distributed by the BBC Studios, the series builds on the 1981 New Cross fire, where 13 young Black British people\u00a0lost their lives,portraying a country deeply entangled in its tensions between black communities and the growth of the far-right party National Front, under the shadow of the Thatcher era.<\/p>\n<p>The festival also welcomes the return of\u00a0<b>Mark Cousins<\/b>\u00a0with\u00a0<b>The Story of Looking<\/b>, a fundamental visual encyclopedia that reflects on how reality is perceived through the gaze.<\/p>\n<p>The Argentinian\u00a0<b>Lucas Larriera<\/b>\u00a0presents his parallel investigation into the broadcast transmission of the 1969 moon landing in\u00a0<b>Channel 54<\/b>, where the nature and veracity of the concept of image is the starting point for a series of conspiracy theories.<\/p>\n<p><b>Closing Words<\/b>\u00a0reflects on the choice of ending life, lived through the attentive generosity of caregivers.
