20 years of doclisboa

Over the course of 20 years, there were many views, many images, and it was with the many filmmakers who joined us that brought together the festival as it is today.


International Competition

12 films, 5 of which world premieres and 6 international premieres, from different places and cultures and with distinct aesthetics. What they share is a generous and emotional approach to the reality around us, be it more personal stories or novel-like narratives.

Portuguese Competition

12 films, 8 of which world premieres, in an encounter between new directors and others whom Doclisboa has presented before. Portuguese cinema challenging itself in investigations on space, time, family, memory and love.

Nebulae is the industry-oriented project and networking space at Doclisboa. It is a group of activities, gatherings, opportunities and people for the advancement of the creation, production and dissemination of independent film. In 2022, Nebulae will take place on-site between the 11th and 16th October.
