Here are the nominees for the 2022 Doc Alliance Awards
Doc Alliance, which brings together seven major European documentary film festivals, has unveiled its shortlisted nominees for the 2022 Doc Alliance Awards.
This year, Doclisboa has nominated Yoon, de Pedro Figueiredo Neto and Ricardo Falcão (Best Feature Film) and Peace, by José Oliveira and Marta Ramos (Best Short Film). While the first film portraits the regular round trip taken by a Senegalese carrier on an old Peugeot 504, in Peace, the filmmakers return to the wreckage of Portuguese Colonial War to give voice and listen to the testimonies of war veterans.
Doclisboa has also selected Portuguese journalist and film critic Teresa Vieira (Antena 3, Cineuropa) to be part of a jury comprised of leading European journalists, joining Leila Basma (dok.revue), Frederik Bojer Bové (POV.International), Esther Buss (Jungle World, Filmdienst, Der Tagesspiegel), Nepheli Gambade (Critikat), Nicolas Wadimoff (filmmaker) and Michał Walkiewicz (Filmweb), who will decide on the winning films in both categories from the list of nominated films.
The winners will be announced on May 24th, at Cannes Film Festival, as part of the Doc Day Lunch industry programme at the Marché du Film.
