NEBULAE

This year, Doclisboa puts forward the 6th edition of Nebulae, an industry project and networking space. Every year, the celestial bodies come together at the Festival for a reflection on contemporary cinema.

In partnership with ICAA – Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute, Spain will be the invited country in 2024, presenting 8 selected projects to industry professionals. The presentations will be followed by one-on-one meetings aimed at fostering co-production and collaboration opportunities.
Arché, a space for development and creative thinking run by Apordoc – Portuguese Documentary Association, hosts 14 Ibero-American projects for specialised mentoring, including participants in the programme created in partnership with the Márgenes Festival in Madrid: RAW, Residencies Arché→Work.

In collaboration with UnionDocs – Center for Documentary Art (New York, USA), the Filmmaking Seminar invites six artists and four writers for an intensive four-day programme aimed at expanding radical cinematographic practices and researching new languages of documentary cinema.

The Constellations address relevant contemporary themes, ranging from the programming of archive films and historical debt to the distribution of films on independent circuits. These debates will be spread over 8 round tables throughout the Festival and will be open to the public.
We are delighted to welcome you all to Nebulae 2024!
