Ghosts: Long Way Home, by Tiago Siopa, is the winner of Doc Alliance Award 2020

Ghosts: Long Way Home, directed by Tiago Siopa and produced by Primeira Idade, is the winner of Doc Alliance Award 2020.
The nominated film by Doclisboa dives us in the director’s family universe, in his hometown, searching and revealing the ghosts and family superstitions.

According to the Jury, the “film is rooted in deeply personal qualities, but at the same time revolves around the collective – the specific and the general, that which is psychical and that which is not, become entangled into each other, creating a whole new, immersive reality.”

In 2018, the film was part of Arché – Space for Creative Development of Apordoc, under the tutorship of Andrés Duque where he won the RTP Award for Best Project, and premiered worldwide in Doclisboa 2019, in the Portuguese competition.

Tiago Siopa, who had already won the First Lights Competition, in Jihlava Documentary Film Festival 2020, will receive 5.000 Euros for his next film.

The ceremony was held in an online session and attended by the directors of the seven festivals, the nominees and members of the jury (included portuguese Cláudia Marques Santos, journalist and film critic at Visão magazine and jury nominated by Doclisboa).

The film is available until December 24th at dafilms platform (alongside Never Whistle Alone and El Father Plays Himself.)
