Julia Duarte

Has a degree in Portuguese studies from the Nova University of Lisbon, and has worked with film since 2006 when she joined the São Paulo International Film Festival, with which she collaborated in many ways, including as a programmer, until 2017. Was executive manager of Cinema do Brasil and a founding partner of the streaming platform Spamflix. Works in the Open Doors section at the Locarno Festival and as coordinator at the Industry Academy in São Paulo.

Madeleine Molyneaux

Independent producer and curator. Through Picture Palace Pictures, founded in 2004, she works with emerging and established international filmmakers and moving image artists to develop, produce and represent films and curatorial initiatives that often defy easy categorization. Her productions have premiered at international festivals and art institutions, and have been distributed worldwide. She also works as a music supervisor and archival researcher.

María Vera

Festival distributor and sales agent. Founder of Kino Rebelde, a company focused on festival strategy and creative distribution of documentaries, and experimental and hybrid narratives. Has been supporting emerging and established filmmakers since 2017. The films in her catalogue have been selected and awarded in festivals such as Berlinale, Locarno, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Visions du Réel, New York, Jeonju, Viennale, Sarajevo and Doclisboa, among others.

Melanie Iredale

Film curator and activist, and director of Birds’ Eye View, a charity with a mission to champion films by filmmakers of marginalised genders. Prior to this, she was deputy director at Sheffield DocFest from 2014 to 2021, and director of Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival from 2009 to 2014. Melanie was the executive producer of Rebel Dykes, which brought the queer, ally, and activist communities together at more than 50 festivals around the world.

Pedro Pimenta

Started his career at the Mozambique Film Institute. Since then, has worked in the production of countless short and feature films in several African countries. Created and ran the documentary film festival Dockanema and also ran the urban Film Festival until 2016. Has been a mentor at the Ouaga Film Lab, which supports young African filmmakers in the development of cinematic projects, since 2016. Is a member of the Motion Picture Academy in the USA.
