This will be the fifth edition of Nebulae. Same as every year, its celestial bodies are propelled by the establishing and strengthening of relations that will advocate and instigate the free cinema in which we believe.

In partnership with the Finnish Film Foundation, we are pleased to present 12 projects at different stages of development. This selection comprises a wide range of topics and cinematic views manifested in 8 Finnish projects, as well as 4 projects representing the invited countries from the previous Nebulae editions: Germany, Georgia, Croatia and France.

The second edition of Jumpgate – Inspiring European Producers, in collaboration with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, is dedicated to European producers and aims at fostering the sharing of ideas, exchange of knowledge and promotion of future partnerships between experienced and emerging professionals. We shall welcome 20 producers from 12 European countries.

With the purpose of encouraging co-productions with Portugal, we for the first time organise a presentation of Spanish projects with ICAA – Spain’s Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute. The Filmmaking Seminar is once again designed in partnership with UnionDocs – Center for Documentary. Concerning the Constellations, which comprise talks, round tables and a visit to the National Archive of Moving Images in the scope of the FILMar project, we try, as always, to pay attention to issues that are important to the community in which we are included.
