The discussion aims to reflect on how these institutions are integrated into existing networks of festivals, showcases, and catalogs, exploring the connections between education, artistic recognition, and professional integration, as well as the limitations and potential of these circuits.

Agnes Meng

Agnes Meng (China, 1991) is a documentary filmmaker and PhD student at Lusófona University. She graduated from the Docnomads Erasmus Joint Master. Her work now focuses on the oral history and folk tradition in northern Portugal.
Margarida Leitão
(Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema)
Margarida Leitão is a professor in the Film department at Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema – IPL. She has worked as an editor and script supervisor and directed short films and documentaries screened at festivals and on TV.
Daniel Borga
(director)
Daniel Borga, 23, is a filmmaker from the suburbs of Lisbon who studied at Lisbon’s Theatre and Film School. During school, he directed Bentuguês (premiere: DocLisboa 2022, Pedro Fortes Award) and Para Sempre Cá (premiere: IndieLisboa 2024).
Francisco João

Francisco João was born in 2005 in Póvoa de Varzim. He studied clarinet at the Escola de Música da Póvoa de Varzim, where he completed secondary education. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Film at Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema.

Inês Gil

Inês Gil is a professor at Lusófona University, teaching film since 2000. She coordinates the 2nd Cycle in Film Heritage and the international Master’s program FilmMemory. She is also a documentary filmmaker and juror at international festivals.
