Bobò

Pippo Delbono

The film tells the story of Bobò, a deaf, mute and illiterate man with microcephaly, whom Pippo Delbono met at the Aversa mental asylum, where Bobò had lived for 46 years. It chronicles a human and artistic bond that transformed both their lives, redefining Delbono’s theatrical and cinematic language, and reshaping his way of looking and creating. Composed of archival materials gathered over more than twenty years, this work portrays the figure of Bobò with delicacy and intensity. “Where are you, Bobò? He left, carrying with him the great mystery of theatre” (Pippo Delbono).
