The Tree of Authenticity

The winning short film of the Doc Alliance Award, We Had Fun Yesterday, explores the director’s fascination with images of nature. Wildlife films, natural parks and zoos are set in motion around her personal experience as a filmmaker, visual artist, ornithologist and woman. The Tree of Authenticity reveals the burden of the colonial past and its links to climate change in the heart of the Congo through the voices of scientists who worked there between 1910 and 1950.
