Nebulae provides an opportunity to reflect on contemporary cinema and foster it by curating projects and initiatives in dialogue with the film programme and reference institutions that support the development, circulation and preservation of cinematic works.
This year, the invited countries are Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. In partnership with Flanders Image, Wallonie-Bruxelles Images, SEE NL and Film Fund Luxembourg, we will present 11 projects from these countries to industry professionals in restricted-access sessions and individual meetings.
For the first time, Nebulae presents Viewpoint, a showcase of six Portuguese film projects in the assembly phase. The aim is to strengthen the visibility of Portuguese cinema and stimulate new collaborations.
Arché, our development and creative research laboratory, supports the development process of 15 Ibero-American projects through mentoring and constructive criticism, as well as creating a space for experimentation and dialogue between emerging filmmakers and critics.
In collaboration with UnionDocs – Center for Documentary Art, the Filmmaking Seminar offers four intensive days of training and film analysis. It is aimed at students and industry professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of innovative practices and explore new languages of documentary cinema.
Nebulae also includes Jumpgate: three days of meetings between European producers, supported by the Goethe-Institut and the Institut français du Portugal, to encourage the exchange of experiences and transnational partnerships.
The Constellations are back with public debates, providing a space for reflection and criticism that encourages discussion and the exchange of experiences about cinema.
We are delighted to welcome everyone to Nebulae 2025.
