Doclisboa presents focus on Atteyat al-Abnoudi

After having presented the programme Egyptian Women in Cinema: Perspectives from 1970 to Today (curated by Mathilde Rouxel) in the New Visions section, Doclisboa returns to the online platform to showcase a selection of films by the Egyptian director Atteyat al-Abnoudi, one of the foremost filmmakers in the Arab world. Considered in Egypt as the “mother of documentary”,  Abnoudi’s work, focused on the hard-working and precarious daily lives, inspired a generation of female documentarists to fight for their own independent film production.

Doclisboa Focus: Pioneer Egyptian Filmmaker is now available at online platform.
