Tutors
Helena Girón
Her work alongside Samuel M. Delgado explores the relationship between mythology, history and materialism. Their first feature film, They Carry Death (2021), premiered and was awarded at the Venice and San Sebastian festivals. Their previous short films have been shown at festivals like Toronto, Locarno, New York and Ann Arbor. She teaches at the Madrid Film and Audiovisual School (ECAM) and the Elías Querejeta Film School (EQZE).
Andrés Duque
His first film “Ivan Z” is a portrait of cult filmmaker Iván Zulueta. He has done self-referential films and portraits about exceptional figures such as the composer Oleg Karavaichuk. His projects received many international awards and recognitions at film festivals and have been exhibited in cultural centers such as the Reina Sofía National Art Center Museum. He’s been teaching avantgard cinema history for more than 20 years at various universities.
Tiago Hespanha
Film director and producer. Has a degree in architecture. Completed the course on documentary film direction at Ateliers Varan and a master’s degree on documentary creation in Barcelona. Founding member of the production company Terratreme Filmes (2008), where he produces his films and works with several directors and producers. Teaches film directing at the Docnomads international master’s degree on documentary film since 2012 and is a member of Ateliers Varan.
