Julien Rejl, Lina González, Narimane Mari, Paula Astorga and André Guiomar are the members of this year’s Apordoc’s project development lab jury Arché, that will take place between October 19th and 25th during Nebulae, the industry programme of Doclisboa – International Film Festival (19-29 October).
Julien Rejl (France) is the artistic director of the Directors’ Fortnight and has also coordinated various cinema books and worked as a producer, distributor and sales agent at the French film company Capricci for over a decade. Lina González (Colombia), co-produced the posthumous film by Luis Ospina and Jerónimo Atehortúa Arteaga, Mudos testigos, that will have a special screening at Doclisboa’ 23 and has recently published Un cine de papel, a compilation of scripts and writings about cinema. Narimane Mari (Algeria) is a producer and director who authored films that were shown in retrospectives at Gabès (Tunisia), Reina Sofía Museum (Madrid) and MoMA (New York). Paula Astorga (Mexico) is a producer, and the executive and founding director of the FICUNAM seminar The Audience of the Future, and head of studies at Open Doors: Producer’s Lab of the Locarno Film Festival. André Guiomar (Portugal) is a founding partner of Olhar de Ulisses production company, and has directed several films, such as Espinho (Directors’ Fortnight).
The jury awards of Arché will distinguish the best projects both in Editing and Development stage, with monetary and in-kind prizes.
Nebulae industry programme will also host the announcement of the beneficiaries of the Joaquin Jordà annual program of residencies, intended for filmmakers and artists who work in the field of film essay, experimental cinema and non-fiction cinema. This programme is supported by Reina Sofia Museum, FIDMarseille, and Doclisboa.
A pitching session exclusive to film professionals with a Nebulae accreditation will take place on 21 October. In the following days, the participants will be working with tutors and will attend a series of meetings with film professionals to foster new business opportunities. The invited country of the 2024 edition will also be announced at the closing of this year’s programme.

Julien Rejl
Julien studied cinema, philosophy, psychoanalysis and business. Then, for a decade, he had the opportunity to distribute wonderful films by Hong Sang-soo, Wang Bing, Tsai Ming-Liang or Albert Serra at Capricci, a small film and publishing company. He also coordinated various cinema books: collections of reviews, interviews with filmmakers, etc. Last year, he embarked on a new adventure as artistic director of the Directors’ Fortnight.
Lina González
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1975, where she lives and works. Her hybrid work includes installation, video installation, sculpture and a variety of other disciplines. Worked as camerawoman, editor and producer in films by Luis Ospina, co-produced his posthumous film Mudos testigos in 2023, and is currently the person in charge of his cinematographic and literary work. Recently published Un cine de papel, a compilation of scripts and writings about cinema.
Narimane Mari
Producer and director. The films she produced present a vision of the world that expresses the surreality of contemporary history, and they have been shown at numerous festivals, where they won many awards. In 2023, her own films were shown in retrospectives at Gabès (Tunisia), Reina Sofía Museum (Madrid) and MoMA (New York), after being selected and awarded at major festivals: FIDMarseille, Locarno, London, Toronto and Beaubourg.
Paula Astorga
Mexican producer and director. Since August 2022, Astorga is head of studies at Open Doors: Producer’s Lab of the Locarno Film Festival. She is a consultant and advisor for audiovisual projects, especially in development and exhibition. She currently teaches writing and project development at the University for Development in Santiago de Chile. She is the executive and founding director of the FICUNAM seminar The Audience of the Future.
