Green Years
Green Years continues to be a vital space for cinematic expression. With each edition, we present a selection of works that reflect the essence of the beginning of an expressive journey, celebrating the creative impulse that characterises the first film productions.
This year’s competitive selection includes 18 films from 14 different countries. A complex and significant programme, which includes school works and independent productions.
The opening is marked by Mitología de barrio, by Antonio Llamas, Alejandro Pérez Castellanos and Jorge Rojas, all members of the Espíritu Escalera film collective and former students of ECAM—School of Cinematography and Audiovisual of the Community of Madrid. The film defines a glossary and comprehensively maps Madrid’s working-class neighbourhoods, now immersed in an unstoppable process of displacement and gentrification. A journey through the most inhabited and at the same time most invisible Madrid.
This year, ECAM celebrates thirty years of existence and we are dedicating a focus of three sessions to the most emblematic works made in the context of this institution since the 2010s.
