Constellation: Camera and consciousness – film construction in relation to situations of violence

In contexts of conflict and violence, cinema is faced with ethical and formal decisions. Between the urgency of witnessing and the complexity of dealing with suffering, a space emerges for reflection on the role of cinema and the tensions that shape its practices.

As the current General Director of MSF Portugal, he led its launch in 2019 after more than a decade working on projects in various countries, witnessing harsh crises and the remarkable resilience of communities lacking basic healthcare.

Marko Grba Singh

(director)

Marko Grba Singh was born in Belgrade. The latest feature film he made, Rampart premiered at the Locarno Film Festival. He is member of European Film Academy, the Artistic director of Beldocs IDFF and programmer of Eastern Neighbours film festival.

Jenya Milyukos

artist and filmmaker

Received a degree in architecture and a master’s degree in contemporary art. Worked as mediator at the VAC Foundation, focus was on working with people with disabilities and children. After full-scale invasion left russia, now based in Lisbon/Kyiv.

Vasco Câmara

(film critic)

Film critic and editor at Público, he is a special correspondent at Cannes and Venice. Author of texts on Portuguese and international cinema, he has taught Cultural Journalism at Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
