All You Need to Make a Movie Is a Gun

Para hacer una película solo hace falta un arma

Santiago Sein

In the mid-1970s, the first film students at the University of Córdoba were persecuted and their films were presumed destroyed. Fifty years later, dozens of film cans turn up in a warehouse. Among them, hidden under different names, are surviving recordings of demonstrations and repression by three directors—two of whom were French—who abandoned fiction in favour of political documentary and revolutionary activism. The military intervention at the university and a mysterious figure linked to the fate of the films reveal the violent end to the dreams of a generation of filmmakers.
