Guerrilha no Asfalto is a fictional film based on extraordinary events as recounted by a member of an ultra-left organisation. At the same time, it is about the attempt to make a film based on the book. When the filmmakers finally secure funding, they realise that a film about guerrillas should be made in a guerrilla way, without compromising to the system. A meta-cinematic tragicomedy that blurs the lines between political idealism and cinematic rebellion, tracking the disastrous history of an amateur 1980s guerrilla cell and the chaotic 1990s attempt to bring their story to the big screen.
