Abbé Breuil (1877-1961), a renowned expert who revealed prehistoric art to the world, receives a call from the future. Invited by astronauts awaiting their mission, he revisits a life of exploration. The encounter breeds doubt and remorse—a modern vertigo: does every discovery imply a loss, every conquest destruction? The film creates its own universe: mysterious, self-reflective, playful and melancholic at the same time. How do we tell our stories, which define us as human beings? How do we represent ourselves and make meaning of our existence in light of the inevitable end?
