Applications are now open for the RAW residency programme

2026 Raw open call

Apordoc, the association organising Doclisboa – International Film Festival, and Cine en Ruta, which organises the Márgenes Festival (Madrid), announce that applications are now open for the 8th edition of RAW – Arché→Work Residencies, a travelling programme of creative development and training dedicated to non-fiction cinema and experimentation, supported by the Ibermedia Programme. Applications are open from 15 April to 15 May 2026.

RAW continues to establish itself as a creative space and a key platform for new talent in Ibero-American cinema, particularly for projects with a strong artistic and authorial vision that is consistent with the times we live in. It is aimed at filmmakers with feature film projects and screenplays at different stages of development, including pre-production and editing, as well as critics with projects in the field of non-fiction cinema, from Ibero-American countries.

The selected projects will have access to a programme divided into four main stages:

  • Participation in Arché, from 18 to 25 October, as part of Doclisboa – International Film Festival;
  • Artistic residency in Lisbon, from 26 October to 13 November, in collaboration with local cultural partners;
  • Participation in Doc’s Kingdom, an international seminar in Odemira (Portugal), from 13 to 18 November;
  • Participation in MÁRGENES/WORK, from 20 to 24 November, as part of the Márgenes Festival in Madrid.

There are two types of residency:

  • Creation Residencies: A programme for emerging filmmakers with feature-length projects at any stage of production, offering a space for work, development and reflection within the context of the Arché Doclisboa and Márgenes/Work laboratories.
  • Critics Residencies: A residency for film critics focused on non-fiction cinema, through immersion in the Doclisboa festival programme and the MÁRGENES/WORK programme, as well as the development of their projects under the guidance of a specialist mentor.

During the residencies, participants will be supported by professionals in the field, in an environment focused on collective reflection, creative work and exchange between participants.

Registration is free and must be completed via the following links: submission to Creation Residencies here; submission to Critics Residencies here.
