Workshop | Making a documentary: the importance of video and photography
Joel Santos, together with Magali Tarouca, is the author behind the documentary series Mundo à Vista and Portugal à Vista for the TV channel SIC, as well as a regular contributor to the magazine Visão, where one can find a photographic echo of many of the pieces created for television. Based on that film and photo experience, he’ll share stories, knowledge and techniques of making a documentary and using equipment in an open dialogue between the author and the participants.

Photographer, videographer, journalist and producer/co-author of more than 50 documentary films for television. Author of 9 photography books, including the bestseller FOTOgrafia. Winner of the Travel Photographer of the Year Award (2016) and the Photojournalism BES/Visão Nature Award (2005). Published in National Geographic (EUA), Geo, Telegraph, Courrier, Daily Mail, Lonely Planet, Visão, Expresso and Rough Guides. Canon ambassador since 2012.
