A film about Elfriede Jelinek, who in 2004 was the first Austrian to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature. Claudia Müller focuses on her artistic approach to language and creates a multi-layered, associative portrait; it approaches the linguistic montage technique of the author from her very own perspective and reveals contradictions of Austria. What does it mean to be a writer who is criticized for being a traitor to the fatherland?
