Love, Prostitute Word

Amor, Palavra Prostituta

Carlos Reichenbach

Inspired by the existentialism of Danish thinker Søren Kierkgaard, Reichenbach builds a film that explores the relation of four characters with life and death. Fernando is an unemployed teacher who lives at the expenses of Rita, a textile worker. One day, they go on a picnic with a couple of friends, chauvinist and reactionary Luís Carlos and inexperienced Lilita. Their meeting leads to a spiral of conflicts and sexual games. In Amor, Palavra Prostituta, Reichenbach resorts to eroticism to “through these images reach the limits that separate repulsive from tender, aggression from touch and indifference from affection”.
