No Place Like Home

Perry Henzell

Shot in 1973, the negative print of No Place Like Home was lost since then until it was finally rediscovered and completed in 2006. A sinuous road movie that tells the story of Susan, a New York producer that goes to Jamaica to shoot a shampoo commercial and, when faced with many production complications, asks for the help of Carl, a local taxi driver. On this journey, Susan will discover aspects of Jamaican life which were previously unknown to her. Reggae forms the backbone of this second film by Henzell, which also features the debut of Jamaican star Grace Jones on the big screen.
