Zorn I (2010-2017)

Actor and director Mathieu Amalric met John Zorn in 2009, when he was a narrator at the French premiere of Zorn’s Shir Hashirim [Song of Songs] at the Grande Halle de La Villette in Paris. When a television network commissioned Amalric to make a portrait, he started filming his new friend in New York. Soon they forgot about the commission, but kept filming every time they met, with no other purpose than to capture the moment. An encounter of two artists, two sensibilities, and the beginning of a friendship.
