Zorn III (2018-2022)

The third moment of this friendship traces the encounter between soprano Barbara Hannigan and John Zorn during the preparations for the performance of a piece he wrote, Jumalattaret. The rehearsals take place in Lisbon, at Gulbenkian’s studios, with pianist Stephen Gosling. Mathieu Amalric brings us this intimate artistic exchange, an exploration of how to avoid fear and uncertainty and grow together into transcendence.
