France - Invited Country

Nebulae welcomes France as the 2022 invited country. With the support of Unifrance, the Festival presents a programme of meetings, networking activities and a pitching session for national projects in development. This year, a selection of five projects from France and three representing the invited countries from the previous Nebulae editions—Germany, Georgia and Croatia—will be pitched.

Pitching session

Collective session in which the participants present their film projects in brief individual presentations of up to 10 minutes.

The session will be held in English, with no translation.
Accredited professionals only.

Individual meetings

Accredited professionals will have access to all the information regarding the projects and their state of development and will be able to schedule one-on-one meetings.

DAE Talent Encouragement Award
Free memberships for one year for the director(s) and producer(s) and a tailor-made consultancy session with DAE senior consultants.

Award to one of the selected projects of the Invited Country Expert consultancy (worth 500€ and valid during 6 months after the announcement).

About Pitch the Doc
Pitch the Doc is a digital platform for projects in development. It promotes the international recognition of curated documentary film projects at any stage of production and from any country. The platform provides presentation functionalities based on international pitching standards. In addition to a range of useful features for industry professionals it allows to keep production packages updated and always ready to access by decision makers from around the world. It’s a valuable tool for creating new contacts and for maintaining relations established during pitching or co-production meetings and markets.

Dafims.com Award
5000€ in-kind, awarded to a debut or second film selected by a Dafilms representative.

The award includes:
Release on Dafilms (including Americas, Europe, Asia) for two years. Geoblocking as necessary, available whenever the filmmaker desires (typically at the end of its festival run).
Can be marketed for a future on-line distribution in a complex and ever-shifting art house environment.
Marketed as ‘A Dafilms release’ at the time of distribution on the platform.
Extensive promotion and marketing activities (film profiles, texts, press release, newsletter, social media).
Possibility of on-line conversation with the filmmaker on Dafilms Live at the time of the release.
