Transoceanic co-production

A transoceanic talk about the challenges of producing and distributing films on both sides of the Atlantic. A Portuguese producer and distributor and a producer working in Brazil and Spain discuss cinema, forms of financing and of course friendship beyond political and geographical borders.

Holding a degree in sociology, he has been working as a film producer since 2002, and he is one of the founders of Terratreme Filmes, a company that has produced over 80 films over the years, between shorts and features, fiction and documentaries. Working with different Portuguese and international financial backers, Terratreme has developed co-productions with countries like France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, USA or Japan.

Brazilian distributor and producer working out of San Sebastián, Spain. Founded Vitrine Filmes in 2010, which distributed over 200 films in Brazil and played a decisive role in the dissemination and success of the newest Brazilian cinema. After a time spent at the Elías Querejeta Film School, is currently developing Vitrine Filmes Spain, searching for new ways to distribute films, while supporting films with great aesthetic and political commitment.
