An educational piece produced for the Forest Industry Employers’ Union shows the working conditions and future prospects of the foresters and machine drivers. The film is a commissioned work that the director doesn’t include in his official filmography. However, it is still a document of great historical interest, showing us the socio-economic situation of Finland in the late 1970s. Taking into consideration Lehmuskallio’s own professional background as a forester and his preoccupation with the topic of nature and civilisation, it serves as a bridge between his early shorts and his first feature.
