7 Walks with Mark Brown

Pierre Creton and Vincent Barré follow the paleobotanist Mark Brown, who has a crazy life project: to recreate a primary forest in his own garden in Normandy. This film is built as a diptych, divided into two chapters: The Shooting and The Herbarium. The digital images transfigure into 16mm, and an improvised commentary into a thoughtful discourse with no less poetry than science, while the plants become the true protagonists of this tender odyssey, having the same rights and no less soul than their human companions. A true wonder of filmmaking as a quest for beauty.
