Northern Portugal. A house with green tiles, a garden, a magnolia. Rooms full of objects from past lives in here. Traces of time, gestures and affections. Alzira was born, lived and died here. She was a daughter, a mother and a grandmother here. She played as a child, learned the piano and dedicated herself to a stern husband here. She lived all these years with Beatriz, the maid, to the extent that she can no longer stand her. In the night of her life, Alzira, freed by the death of her husband, takes a decision of her own for the first time.
