What Do You Think?

After two years of filming Con la música por dentro (1984-1985), a documentary TV series about Mexico City musicians, Leduc brought its participants to his fifth feature film. Dedicated to the International Monetary Fund, it is a portrait of the life of young people in one of the city’s poorer neighbourhoods. A fresco of micro-stories is inspired by the texts of several writers, including José Agustín and José Revueltas. It remains an exemplary cult film about the rock underground, but all kinds of music coexist together here. Regardless of genres, it is the music that brings consolation.
