Miguel Eek crafts a poetic essay on Amílcar Cabral (1924-1973), an agronomist, poet and revolutionary, who led the anti-colonial struggle in Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde. Through his political writings, poems and private letters, the film imagines Cabral’s inner voice across a personal and historical journey. Blending unpublished archives, Portuguese colonial films, revolutionary Guinean footage and newly shot 16mm images, it creates a meditative visual diary evoking both the public figure and the private man, a visionary whose ideas on justice and dignity remain urgent today.
