The 1970s in Mexico witnessed the birth of the feminist movement and the rise of a new independent cinema. The Cine Mujer collective emerged from an initiative by several female students at the National School of Film Arts to work on the matter of abortion in Mexico, which would eventually result in this film. The case of a young female student who goes through an unexpected pregnancy and is humiliated by a doctor who performs the surgery illegally. She ends up being hospitalised and is confronted with the testimony of other women who had had abortions.
