Heart Beat
Marie Losier returns to Heart Beat, opening the section with Peaches Goes Bananas. Two iconic 1990s bands, Blur and Pavement, come back to the stage for their final reunions. Chris Smith infects us with the synth-pop energy of Devo, while Mathieu Amalric joins the Emerson Quartet, this time with soprano Barbara Hannigan. Thom Zimny reveals the backstage intensity of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, while Alessandra Dorgan presents a portrait of Rio singer-songwriter Luiz Melodia.
Léo Favier reveals Miyazaki’s deep connection to the environmental themes expressed in his works. Jacques Demy and François Truffaut are the protagonists of the portraits of Florence Platarets and Frédéric Bonnaud, on the one hand, and David Teboul, on the other, while Richard Copans takes us through the world of Robert Kramer.
There are still many paths to explore: we walk down John Galliano’s red carpet, visit a ruined castle to the sound of the album Ressaca Bailada, delve into the traditions of the Entrudo de Lazarim through the eyes of Diogo Varela Silva, get to know Ruy Cinatti’s Timor with Fernando Vendrell and arrive in Cesena, where Paulo Catrica meets photographer Guido Guidi.
Abel Ferrara, backed by the voice of Patti Smith, offers a tribute to the Ukrainian people.
