At the turn of the century, during a family dinner, a group of cousins torment the youngest with stories about the beast responsible for the disappearance of chickens in the village. Pulga, the only girl amongst them, fed up with the boys’ teasing, reacts violently. That night, a prank in the henhouse sets off a chain of events that lead the children to flee the village. As they move further from home and the threat from the adults searching for them grows, they find themselves at a crossroads from which only Pulga can rescue them.
