Close to the Sultan

1901. The adventurer Lumière Brothers’ camera operator, Gabriel Veyre, disembarks in the Land of Nour on a three-month contract. He was to introduce the venerable Sultan to the mysteries of the camera obscura and the cinematograph. He would remain there for 30 years. This is a phantasmagorical, humorous and almost frightening, yet scientific, reverie about the first inventors of cinema.
