For more than half of his life, writer and composer Paul Bowles lived in Tangier, becoming closely associated with the city. Returning there, Karim Debbagh, among the last young people who knew him, uses 25-year-old footage to revive a forgotten Moroccan circle: the great writer Mohamed Choukri; storyteller and painter Mohamed Mrabet; Temsamani, Bowles’s driver for 30 years; and Boulaich, his driver during his final decade.
