An engrossing 14 hour film almost 10 years in the making, following artistic director Adam Szymczyk and his curatorial team as they develop their radical and controversial proposal for the historic 2017 edition of the world’s most prominent art exhibition, held for the first time in two cities: Kassel, and Athens—the centre of Europe’s then financial crisis. Observing documenta 14’s dramatic course with extraordinarily intimate access, the acute conflicts and paradoxes between the politics and realities of art, its institutions and the world are captured, in an inexorably shifting global landscape.
