The journey of two pregnant women from different classes. The wealthy woman uses the psycho-prophylactic method of painless childbirth, receiving proper guidance, training, and support throughout the process. It is also known as the Lamaze technique, developed by the French obstetrician after his visit to the Soviet Union in the 1950s and being influenced by the communist birthing practices. An irony of history? On the other hand, only general medical assistance at a public clinic is available for the poor protagonist. An excellent piece of direct cinema, made by Leduc with Alexis Grivas.
